The inhabitants of the phosphate plateau rely heavily on rainfed agriculture, particularly the cultivation of staple grains, and livestock farming, given the semi-arid nature of the region. Their agricultural activities are largely based on modern methods and techniques. This agricultural practice is closely linked to weather and climate fluctuations. The climatic changes experienced by the phosphate plateau in recent years, linked to global shifts, have impacted production and yields, and consequently, agricultural practices.
Some projects, such as intensifying and adding value to agricultural products, developing the red meat sector, implementing new farming methods, adopting crop diversification, and cultivating fruit trees, have aimed to mitigate and adapt to agricultural changes and achieve agricultural development
