Social media plays a significant role in supporting migration waves by providing easy access to information that helps individuals shape their views on migration and host countries. However, it can also spread misinformation through carefully selected content. Many young people share their personal stories, presenting migration as a path to wealth and success by highlighting only the most positive aspects of their lives abroad. This creates an illusion of a perfect migration experience, making viewers feel pressured to seize the same opportunity and compare their own lives to these seemingly successful journeys.
This research paper will explore the experiences of migrant women, following their journey from passive observers to hopeful dreamers, and finally to individuals who faced the tough realities of migration after arrival.
