The role of hydro-agricultural planning in the growth of emerging centers in the Eastern Hawz in Morocco.Abstract

Abstract

Hydro-agricultural planning is a determining factor in the dynamics of the emerging centers of the Eastern Hawz, which they have benefited from the emigration experienced by the region. These centers have played a role in attracting quite considerable socio-economic projects; we find that they have not succeeded in fixing the population in space. Such a situation leads us to question the effectiveness of hydraulic development in creating sustainable development in this region. 
This study attempted to address the role played by the hydro-agricultural sector of in the growth of Eastern Hawz emerging centers, the latter playing an important role in framing the surrounding landscapes, and also concentrating a set of services that alleviate the pressure on the regional capital. The study concluded that hydro-agricultural development has indeed 
contributed to the emergence of several emerging centers, namely Atawiya, Tamallet and Sidi 
Rahhal, but that they are faced with a set of imbalances that require concerted efforts to address 
them and thus create local development. that benefits the population
