This article is set in an international context characterized by the spread of geopolitical tensions, especially border conflicts, which can evolve into conflicts that may last for generations. This has necessitated our search for ways to create a new reality that allows for a kind of balance on both sides of borders. Therefore, the choice was made to study "the role of decentralized international cooperation in establishing regional security and peace" by addressing the problematic of ways to stimulate decentralized international cooperation that quells regional conflicts and establishes cross-border developmental areas.
The article presents a hypothesis that decentralized international cooperation leads to reducing border tensions by creating a geo-economic space characterized by significant independence, accumulating developmental stages capable of preventing future conflict outbreaks.
This study relies on a mixed methodology through examining successful models with the aim of proving them and analyzing the components of building new structures for this type of cooperation, while also describing the legal and political requirements that frame them.
