Abstract

This study addressed the issue of entrepreneurial identity and the role of the local society in shaping it, using a socio-anthropological approach. The aim was to understand the paths of development of local entrepreneurial activity and the fundamental components of its construction and continuity. The field study revealed that entrepreneurial identity in Ksar Hellal is built on three components: solidarity, belonging, and ambition. The social and cultural context, as well as the familial and kinship environment, played a prominent and decisive role in consolidating these values, and consequently in the emergence and continuity of many entrepreneurial experiences. However, the current reality of entrepreneurial activity faces significant challenges due to economic transformations, particularly digital transformations, and the intensification of competition, in addition to the clear decline of the family's role in framing and supporting.
